Large Narrow Gauge Locomotive Comparison

This is a table of the largest narrow gauge locomotives to operate for railroads in North America. Most of the statistics here have been provided by the members of the Narrow Gauge Railroad Discussion Forum and are not always verifiabley correct.

Please send additions or corrections to Chris Coleman.

For the sake of keeping the list concise I am only adding units with a tractive effort of 20,000 or higher.

The locos are arranged in order of tractive effort, where it is known.

Thanks to Richard Wickett for for data on WP&Y 68-73
