Mile Mark: 31.40

Even after WWII mules were used in many mines around the Broad Top. The corrugated nature of the coal seams made them nearly impossible to mechanize. The mules that worked the mines in the Woodvale area were stabled here.
The mule barn was burned by an arsonist on October 28, 1992. The burned-out structure still remains just south of the Woodvale powerhouse.
