EBT: Saltillo to Cooks

This portion of the line was built between the winter of 1874 and the fall of 1874. B.J. McGrann and Company of Lancaster graded the route, Coffrode and Company of Philadelphia built the bridges and Thomas Keenan was awarded the tracklaying. The track leaves the Three Springs Creek watershed by climbing around a gap in Clear Ridge and crossing a saddle in the valley between Clear Ridge and Sideling Hill. The track then tunnels through Sideling Hill and heads north (still railroad southbound though) to the saddle in the valley between Sideling Hill and Wrays Hill. At that point it makes a sweeping curve and then tunnels through Wrays Hill to Rocky Ridge. From there the track ascends the valley of Trough Creek to Cooks.
