Rockhill Reservoir Ponds

Photo of Rockhill Reservoir Ponds
Mile Mark: 11.10
Elevation: 630'
Date Built: ca. 1910

These two ponds are built onto the hillside of an arm of Jacks Mountain. They are supplied by a pump in the Car Shop from the Yard Reservoir. There is a cast iron fill pipe in the smaller, triangular eastern pond. A berm between the ponds contains a pipe that apparently feeds water from the small pond into the larger square west pond. Two small square stone lined holes west of the west pond and north of the east pond appear to act as the supply drains to the standpipes in the yard.
