Alvan Bridge

Mile Mark: 32.60
Elevation: unknown
Date Built: 1943

Probably built in 1943 with the last extension of the mainline, this structure was the only two track bridge on the EBT.

Few photos of this bridge exist, but it appears to be a rivited through girder design, with three girders and two decks.

The bridge was likely scrapped in the late 1960's or 1970's when the EBT rail around the Alvan mines and the mine equipment was scrapped. This has not been confirmed, but if true it is the only bridge on the EBT main to have been removed, albeit a late addition to the line.
