A table saw uses a circular blade to make straight cuts in lumber. This table saw is uknown make and date. The fact that is has a wood frame rather that iron indicates that it is either an early design, an inexpensive design, or home built. The engineering on the metal parts indicates it is likely not home built. This saw lacks most of the features that would be on a table saw of similar vintage to the other woodworking machienry in the Car Shop, such as mitering and a

This saw has a very simple design and appears intended only for making long "rip" cuts (cuts along the grain.) Cross cuts (perpindicular to the grain) could be made at the nearby and much more advanced Veritcal Cut-off Saw.

As it has a wood frame, the lower frame sections of this saw have seriously rotted and the machine no longer stands level. It has not operated since the shops closed in 1956. As of 2012 no restoration work has yet been done on the saw.
