This combination punch and shear machine was manufactured by the Bemont Works, Philadelphia, PA as unit no. 606-12. The west end of the machine has a punching mechanism while the east end has a shear. Most modernshars cut a multiple foot sheet at one time, while this unit has a 6" angle plade that works more like scissors, working its way down the sheet. It this way it could even cut curves. I beleive this is what is known as a nibbling shear.
