M-4 is a model JCD Pymouth diesel. It was brought the the property from Kovalchick Salvage's acquisition of Warner Corporation's Union Furnace Quarry, near Pemberton, PA, huntingdon County. It is reported as havein been brought in during the summer of 1978 (1), however footage of a Winter spectacular footage identified as 1977 shows the unit at work then (2). Likely, the gas-mechanical (dubbed the 'ghost') that is derilict in the shops was purchaced at the same time. She operates as backup and MOW power. With M-7 on the property M-4 sees less action now, but is usualy used for lighter shifting and pulling the steamers out of their stalls for servicing. She wears yellow on the cab and cowling with dark green frame and black lettering. She usually resides in stall 8 of the roundhouse or in the Paint Shop.
