THE EAST BROAD TOP RAILROAD'S 2000 FALL SPECTACULAR
Saturday, October 7 & Sunday, October 8

The East Broad Top Railroad owned by the Kovalchick family of Indiana, PA, announces the schedule for the 2000 Fall Spectacular. Excursion trips from the original Orbisonia Station will begin at 9:30 A.M. and continue through 4:40 P.M. both days The E.B.T. will be using four steam locomotives (#12 built Dec. 1911, #14 built Oct. 1912, #15 built Feb. 1914 & #17 built Mar. 1918) that will operate single & double headed, pulling a variety of trains throughout both days. On display will be steam locomotive #16 ( built June 1916), heading an accurate recreation of a coal drag that at one time was commonplace here at the E.B.T.. Among the unique trains to operate is an authentic E.B.T. Shade Gap Picnic Train, consisting of all open cars and a caboose that will run throughout both days. Also operating will be a mixed train that will show various examples of both types of freight and passenger equipment that was once used on this railroad. The historic M-1 Gas Electric Car, built in 1926 on site in the E.B.T.'s shops will make a rare trip at 2:00 PM both days. Tours of the shops in which the M-1 and much of the E.B.T.'s rolling stock was built will be offered several times each day ($5.00 per tour, per person). The Night Trains, always a popular once a year event, will depart at 6:45 PM and 6:55 PM on Saturday. Approximately thirty-five excursions are scheduled to operate during the two day event. There will be numerous food vendors on site for this event. Here is a list of what will be available:

Rockhill Church of the Brethren located next to the Rockhill Post Office will feature delicious home-made pies & cakes, by the slice or whole. Several choices of home-made soups and sandwiches will also be available. The food prepared by this group sells out fast, so find them early in the day on Saturday.

Boy Scout Troop of the greater Orbisonia/Rockhill area will be cooking their annual open kettle "Ham & Bean" soup. They also will feature sandwiches, pies & beverages. They will be with us both days.

Myers Concessions located beside the roundhouse features hot sandwiches, french fries & sweet potato fries. Old fashioned lemonade & Ice-Cream complete their menu. They will likely be open on Friday as well for any visitor who comes early to the spectacular.

Rockhill Trolley Museum located across the street from the E.B.T. will again be serving Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. This group features an "all you can eat breakfast" from 7:00 am to 10:00 am on Saturday & Sunday. Price will be $5.50. This includes hot & cold breakfast items along with beverages. Lunch this year will be many home-made items such as soup and hot sandwiches, all ala-carte. Lunch is served 10:30 am to 3:00 pm. The evening meal will be served Saturday only and will feature an "all you can eat" Spaghetti & Meatballs dinner. For $6.50 you will have a salad bar, entree', dessert & beverage.
